What are the opening hours of the hotel and reception?

The Heliopic Hotel & Spa is open 24 hours a day, every day. The hotel reception is at your service and will respond to your enquiries, whether by email or telephone, at any time of day.

What payment methods are accepted?

You can pay by Visa, AMEX, Eurocard, Mastercard, cash, or holiday vouchers and Connect holiday vouchers.

What languages are spoken at the hotel?

Our teams welcome you in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Latvian, Portuguese and Russian.

Does the hotel offer Wi-Fi for internet access?

Yes, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa provides free high-speed Wi-Fi, ideal for working or making the most of your online content.

This connection is available throughout the hotel, including in the public areas and in the Akashon and Frometon restaurants.

Are pets allowed in the hotel and rooms?

Unfortunately no, we are unable to accommodate pets within the hotel, whether in the rooms, public areas or the Heliopic apartments.

Only assistance animals are permitted (proof will be required) to ensure everyone is welcomed in the best possible conditions.

Is smoking or vaping permitted on the hotel premises?

Smoking (cigarettes, cigars or shisha) and vaping are strictly prohibited throughout the hotel, including in guest rooms, apartments, on balconies and on terraces. In the event of non-compliance with this ban, a penalty of €150 will be charged.

Is the hotel suitable for guests with reduced mobility?

Yes, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa has 4 rooms with bathrooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility. All the hotel’s common areas are also accessible by lift, making it easier to get around in a wheelchair, for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests.

It boasts one of the largest wellness areas in Chamonix, making it a particularly popular choice for relaxing mountain stays. Its two restaurants, including the Bib Gourmand-awarded Akashon, offer a high-quality culinary experience much appreciated by our guests.

Its prime location, just a short walk from the Aiguille du Midi cable car and right next to the coach station and the Centre Ville car park, provides easy access to the whole valley and its activities.

How do I get to the Heliopic Hotel & Spa by car?

If your car is fitted with a sat-nav, we recommend entering the following address: 610, Route Blanche – 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, so that you are guided directly to the hotel.

From Geneva:

Take the A1 towards France / Geneva La Praille as far as the Bardonnex border crossing. Follow the A40 towards Turin / Milan / Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, then take the E25 / N205 to the Route Blanche (D1506).

In Chamonix, go straight through the first roundabout, then make a U-turn at the next one to return to the Route Blanche. Then take the right-hand lane towards the Allée des Aiguilles until you reach the hotel.

From Lyon:

Join the A43 towards Chambéry, then the A41 towards Bonneville / Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Keep going on the A410 then the A40 towards Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Follow the E25 / N205 then the Route Blanche (D1506).

At the entrance to Chamonix, go through the first roundabout, then turn around at the second one towards Allée des Aiguilles, and then take the right-hand lane to the drop-off point at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa.

Does the hotel offer parking?

The Heliopic Hotel & Spa provides its guests with covered parking, subject to booking, at a rate of €10 per day. The maximum permitted height is 2.30 metres. Please note that the number of spaces is limited, so we advise you to book your space well in advance.

Please note that the hotel does not have private parking spaces for non-resident visitors (spa, restaurants or breakfast guests). The nearest car park is the Centre Ville car park, 200 metres from the hotel.

Do I need to book my parking space before I arrive?

Yes, to gain access to the car park, you must book your parking space before your stay. We recommend adding the parking option when booking online via our website or contacting the hotel's reception directly.

Does the car park have electric charging points?

Absolutely, the hotel car park is equipped with three universal electric sockets for charging vehicles. Please note that we do not provide charging cables.

Are there any other car parks near the hotel?

Yes, there are several paid public car parks in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, notably the Centre Ville Car Park, offering a convenient solution for parking just a short walk from the hotel.

Is the hotel bike-friendly?

Of course, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa has a covered, secure storage area for your bikes and is happy to accommodate you.

How do I get to the hotel by public transport?

By train:

Chamonix is accessible by train from the region’s main train stations, with several daily services. The journey takes approximately 2½ hours from Geneva Cornavin station, and around 5 hours from Lyon Part-Dieu.

All journeys include a mandatory change at Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet station, located at the entrance to the Chamonix valley.

Access by bus:

Yes, it is entirely possible to reach Chamonix-Mont-Blanc by bus from many French and European cities. Several companies operate regular services to Chamonix, allowing you to travel from many cities at often competitive fares.

Access by plane:

- Geneva-Cointrin Airport – 85 km – 1 hour 15 minutes by car.

- Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport – 227 km – 2 hours 30 minutes by car.

- Milan Malpensa Airport – 239 km – 2 hours 45 minutes by car.

Does the hotel offer a transfer service?

We can arrange a private or shared transfer to and from Geneva Airport. Please contact our concierge service for further information.

Does Chamonix have a public transport network?

There are numerous public transport services covering the entire Chamonix valley, making it easy to explore its various villages and the surrounding area.

The ‘Chamonix Sud’ coach station, located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, offers an extensive bus network connecting Chamonix with the main villages in the valley. Routes and timetables can be found on the Chamonix Mobilité website.

The Mont-Blanc Express, accessible from Chamonix – Aiguille du Midi station, connects to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains-Le Fayet and Martigny in Switzerland. This scenic train stops at several stations throughout the valley, offering wonderful opportunities to explore. Timetables and detailed information are available on the official Mont-Blanc Express website.

Is there a special offer for public transport in the town of Chamonix?

On request at reception, you will be given a guest card entitled to several benefits on public transport in the Chamonix valley.

It allows you to travel free of charge on the Mont-Blanc Express between Servoz and Vallorcine, enabling you to explore the entire valley at your leisure.

As for buses, this card gives you access to discounted fares on your journeys. Please note that the guest card is not a valid travel ticket: you will therefore need to purchase a ticket which is available from the "Chamonix Mobilités" ticket machines or online via the Chamonix Mobilité website.

What is the check-in time for the hotel rooms?

Rooms are available from 4 pm on the day of your arrival.

If you wish to arrive earlier, our team is on hand to look after your luggage via our free luggage storage service, allowing you to spend most of your time in Chamonix with complete freedom.

You will also have access to the hotel’s common areas: the lobby and its bar, open from 3 pm, as well as a co-working and relaxation area where drinks (water, tea and coffee) are provided free of charge. Wi-Fi and a shower room are also available for your convenience.

What is the check-out time for hotel rooms?

Hotel rooms must be vacated by 12 noon.

You may, however, make use of the hotel lobby after your check-out time.

Are early check-ins and late check-outs permitted?

Unfortunately, no, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. However, our concierge service can store your luggage free of charge if required.

Is it possible to arrive late at night?

Absolutely. Our hotel is open 24 hours a day and our reception staff are on hand at night to welcome you, whatever time you arrive.

Is it possible to check out very early in the morning?

Indeed, to ensure a smooth departure, we always have a member of our team at the hotel reception who can assist you with check-out, whatever time you leave.

Can I use the luggage storage facility after check-out?

Yes, you can use the free luggage storage service after check-out. This allows you to make the most of your last day in Chamonix.

Can I take a shower after I’ve checked out?

Yes, a bathroom is available for your use free of charge, allowing you to enjoy the ski areas on your last day and have a shower when you come to collect your luggage.

What are the check-in times for the Heliopic Apartments?

The Heliopic Apartments are available from 4 pm, just like the hotel rooms.

What are the check-out times for the Heliopic Apartments?

Check-out from the Heliopic Apartments must be completed by 11 am.

Can I use the luggage storage service whilst staying at the Heliopic Apartments?

Yes, you can of course make use of the free luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out when you are a guest at the Heliopic Apartments.

The Heliopic Hotel & Spa offers a wide range of room categories to suit every type of stay: Rooms with obstructed view, Attic rooms, Standard rooms, Superior rooms, Superior rooms for 2 adults and 1 child under 13, Family rooms (for 2 adults and 2 children, 3 people and 4 people), Attic family rooms and Privilege rooms.

What are the sizes of the different rooms at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa?

The surfaces of the rooms at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa vary depending on the room category:

•    17 m² for Attic Rooms;

•    22 m² for Standard Rooms and Rooms with obstructed view;

•    25 m² for Superior Rooms;

•    From 28 m² for Family Rooms for 2 adults and 2 children, 3 people and 4 people;

•    From 32 m² for Attic family Rooms and Privilege Rooms.

Are the rooms cleaned during your stay?

Yes, rooms are cleaned daily between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm. If you would like your room to be cleaned at a specific time, please ask at the reception desk. Our staff will do their best to accommodate your request, where possible.

What facilities are available in the rooms?

All rooms at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa feature Wi-Fi, a safe secured with a personal code, an HD television with satellite channels and a film-on-demand service included, as well as a work area. A coffee machine and a kettle with a selection of teas complete these amenities for your utmost comfort.

The easy-to-use safe allows you to set your own code so you can keep your personal belongings secure with complete peace of mind whilst you’re out and about.

The bathrooms feature either a bath or a shower and are equipped with a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, as well as NUXE toiletries (soap, shampoo and shower gel).

Are there any connecting rooms?

Yes, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa has 10 connecting rooms, spread across the various floors of the hotel. The connecting rooms are ideal for families and groups who wish to enjoy extra comfort without being separated.

Do the rooms have twin beds?

All our rooms are equipped with a double bed, but it is possible to configure them with two separate single beds upon request.

If you would like this configuration, please inform us when making your booking so that we can prepare your room accordingly.

Does the hotel have air conditioning?

No, the hotel is located in Chamonix, at an altitude of over 1,000 metres, and in an alpine climate that does not require air conditioning in the rooms or throughout the hotel. In summer, the average temperature ranges between 20 and 22°C.

Can the windows in the rooms be opened?

Yes, all our rooms have an outdoor balcony, accessible via the glass door in your room, allowing you to enjoy this space and let in some fresh air.

Do you have cots available?

Yes, baby cots are available on request at the hotel reception for children up to the age of 3.

What is the perfect room for a family stay?

We offer several Family Rooms which are ideal for family stays as they have more space and are equipped with a double bed and two bunk beds, a desk and a cosy reading area with benches or armchairs.

What types of views are available from the rooms?

All our rooms feature balconies with different views overlooking the Dôme du Goûter, the Brévent, the Place de l’Aiguille du Midi and its cable car, or the Route Blanche.

The ‘no view’ room category offers rooms with balconies overlooking the second building of the Heliopic Hotel & Spa.

Can I request a specific room when booking?

Of course, if you’d like a room with a particular view or have any preferences regarding the floor or bed configuration, please let us know when booking. Our team will do their best to accommodate your requests, subject to availability.

What facilities and services do the apartments at Maison Betty offer?

The apartments at Maison Betty feature a fully equipped kitchen, including a Nespresso machine, a kettle with a selection of teas, and a wine cellar.

The bathrooms are fitted with a bath, a hairdryer, NUXE toiletries, as well as bathrobes and slippers for your comfort. The rooms are equipped with a safe to ensure the security of your personal belongings.

The living areas feature a comfortable lounge equipped with a television offering free VOD and a hi-fi system. A work area and high-speed Wi-Fi are also available.

Some apartments offer exclusive amenities: the Le Goûter apartment has a hot tub, whilst the Les Cosmiques and Le Nid d’Aigle apartments feature a sauna and a hot tub.

Finally, each apartment opens onto a private outdoor area in the form of a terrace with sun loungers or a balcony. A shared ski storage room and a communal laundry room round off the facilities on offer, ensuring a most enjoyable stay.

What facilities are available in the Maison Lyret apartments?

The Maison Lyret apartments feature a fully equipped kitchen, including a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle with a selection of teas, as well as raclette and fondue sets, not to mention a wine cellar.

The bathrooms are fitted with a shower, NUXE toiletries, as well as bathrobes, slippers and a hair-dryer for your comfort. Linen is provided, and each apartment is equipped with a washer-dryer and an iron.

The living areas feature a cosy lounge with a television and on-demand VOD, a Bluetooth speaker and a selection of board games. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout all apartments.

For optimal comfort all year round, all apartments are air-conditioned. Some also feature a balcony or private garden, perfect for relaxation.

Some apartments offer exclusive amenities: the Henriette and Marie apartments are equipped with a sauna, whilst the Élisabeth apartment features an indoor jacuzzi.

Finally, a communal ski room is available for you to store your equipment safely.

Are the Heliopic Apartments accessible to guests with reduced mobility?

Both Maison Lyret and Maison Betty have stairs, meaning the apartments are not accessible to guests with reduced mobility.

We recommend booking one of the hotel’s PRM rooms so that you can enjoy your stay with us in the best possible conditions.

Are the apartments suitable for elderly guests?

The Emmeline apartment is a particularly suitable option, as it has no internal floors. Only a few steps lead up to Maison Lyret.

The other apartments at the Heliopic, however, feature floors or mezzanines, which may affect the comfort of your stay if you have difficulty walking.

Are the apartments suitable for a family holiday?

Our apartments are designed to accommodate between 4 and 8 people, making them an ideal solution for holidays with family or friends.

They allow you to enjoy the hotel’s services, such as linen provision, cleaning and access to the spa, whilst offering the privacy and independence of private accommodation, which is particularly appreciated during group stays.

Are cots available in the apartments?

Yes, baby cots for children up to the age of 3 are available and can be requested from reception. Please note that, depending on the apartment, the cot may need to be placed in the living room due to space constraints.

Is a deposit required for the Heliopic Apartments?

No damage deposit is required during your stay.

However, in the event of damage to furniture or equipment, charges may apply depending on the damage observed. It is strictly forbidden to remove any items of furniture or decoration. Any missing items may result in a charge equivalent to their value.

What services does the hotel offer?

Is a valet service available for arrivals at the train station with luggage?

No, unfortunately, we do not offer a valet service. However, the Chamonix Valley bus service will allow you to quickly reach the hotel from the train station by taking bus 03.

Does the hotel have a luggage storage facility?

Luggage storage is available free of charge before you check in or after you check out, so you can enjoy your first (or last) day in Chamonix without any hassle.

Does the hotel offer a concierge service?

No, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa does not offer a laundry service on-site.

However, there is a laundrette opposite the hotel, open daily from 9 am to 10 pm, where you can wash and dry your clothes yourself.

Does the hotel provide an iron and ironing board?

Yes, the hotel has ironing boards and irons available on request from reception. Our staff will then arrange for them to be delivered to your room.

Does the hotel have a gym?

No, the hotel does not have a gym, but you can book classes and fitness sessions at one of the many fitness, yoga or weight-training centres in Chamonix.

Can the hotel host seminars and business stays?

Indeed, the Heliopic Hotel & Spa is particularly well-suited to hosting a seminar or a business stay. The hotel has high-speed Wi-Fi, 4 modular seminar rooms, and each room has a desk area.

How many people can the rooms accommodate?

The maximum capacity of the rooms is 225 people when all 4 rooms are open and configured in theatre style.

In classroom style, the rooms can accommodate up to 180 people and up to 88 people in a U-shape layout.

What facilities are available in the seminar rooms?

Each room is equipped with an HD TV, a projector with a drop-down screen, a sound system, a flipchart and a microphone for facilitating meetings and presentations. Writing kits are also provided for participants to take notes.

We also provide a refreshment area with unlimited tea and coffee, snacks and light bites, as well as jugs of still and sparkling water.

Are the rooms suitable for remote working?

Yes, in addition to high-speed Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel, each room has a desk area, ideal for remote working, complete with a comfortable chair and power sockets.

Yes, we welcome you for short or extended stays, depending on your needs and schedule.

How far is the Aiguille du Midi cable car from the hotel?

The Heliopic Hotel & Spa enjoys an exceptional location, just 50 metres from the Aiguille du Midi cable car station, offering quick access to one of Chamonix’s most iconic attractions.

Where is the Montenvers train station in relation to the hotel?

The Train du Montenvers station is located approximately 850 metres from the hotel, a 10-minute walk through the centre of Chamonix.

Are there any shops near the hotel?

Yes, a Carrefour Market supermarket is less than 500 metres from the hotel, providing easy access to everyday essentials. There are also many other grocery shops and businesses in Chamonix town centre.

How far is the hotel from the tourist office?

The Chamonix tourist office is 800 metres from the hotel, a 10-minute walk. There you will find plenty of information and advice to help you plan your activities in the Chamonix valley and the surrounding area.

Is there a gym in Chamonix?

The Richard Bozon Sports Centre is a must-visit destination for lovers of sport and leisure activities. It features a climbing wall, a swimming pool, an ice rink and a dedicated weight training and fitness area.

Located about a 20-minute walk from the hotel, it is also easily accessible by public transport via bus routes 02 and 03, which take you there in under 15 minutes.

Are there any restaurants and bars nearby?

In addition to Frometon and Akashon, the two restaurants, and the Heliopic bar, there are numerous establishments in the heart of Chamonix. To help you choose, we have a list of restaurants that we recommend to our guests at the hotel reception. Our staff will also be delighted to advise you, if needed.

Are there any nightclubs in Chamonix?

Yes, the Amnesia nightclub, the only venue of its kind in Chamonix, is located about 250 metres from the hotel, on Avenue de l’Aiguille du Midi.

There are also plenty of cocktail bars with a lively atmosphere on Rue du Moulin.

What activities are there nearby for children?

Chamonix and its valley offer a wide range of activities suitable for children and families. The Richard Bozon sports centre is a must-visit, with its swimming pool, climbing wall and ice rink.

For outdoor activities, Merlet Wildlife Park, the Alpine Coaster toboggan run at Les Planards and the Accro’parc des Gaillands are among the most popular experiences.

Finally, for a more cultural outing, the Vox Cinema offers several screenings daily, in the original language with subtitles or in French.

Can I buy my ski pass at the hotel?

Absolutely. To make your stay easier, you can purchase your ski passes for the various ski areas in Chamonix directly at the hotel reception. Our team is on hand to assist you with the process and save you a trip to the Tourist Office.

What are the ski shop’s opening hours?

The ski shop at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa is open daily from 8 am to 7 pm, from December to April, subject to snow conditions. It is closed during the summer season.

Is the ski shop open to non-hotel guests?

Yes, the ski shop is open to all customers, whether they are staying at the hotel or not.

What services does the ski shop offer?

The ski shop team will be delighted to advise you on the latest trends and help you choose your equipment.

As well as equipment and clothing hire and sales, the ski shop offers access to lockers with boot dryers, as well as a maintenance and waxing service provided by our experts to ensure your equipment is in top condition.

Can I hire or buy my ski equipment at the hotel?

Yes, the Heliopic ski shop offers rental, purchase and storage of your ski equipment throughout your stay. Open throughout the winter season, it provides a team of specialists to offer you the best advice. You can also book your equipment online to benefit from the best rates.

Can I store my own ski equipment at the hotel?

Yes, throughout the winter season, a ski locker service is available to hotel guests. Equipped with boot dryers, these lockers allow you to store your equipment safely and ensure your boots are thoroughly dried, for maximum comfort every day.

How do I get to the valley’s ski areas?

The main ski areas are served throughout the season by the valley buses, which are free for ski pass holders. Holders of the guest card, meanwhile, benefit from preferential rates on transport tickets. Routes and timetables are available at Chamonix Mobilité.

Can I book ski lessons directly from the hotel?

Yes, our partner Evolution 2 offers a wide range of ski lessons. To book lessons, you can visit reception, where our team will assist you, or contact the concierge.

What summer activities are worth doing during a stay in Chamonix?

The Chamonix Valley lives in tune with the seasons and, during the summer, offers a wide range of outdoor activities to suit all tastes. Hiking, mountain biking and mountain walks are among the must-do activities for exploring the rich alpine landscapes.

For a more adrenaline-fuelled experience, the River Arve is also ideal for canyoning or rafting. Iconic sites such as the Train du Montenvers, the Mer de Glace and the Aiguille du Midi remain must-see attractions, even during the summer season.

What are the best hikes in the region?

The Chamonix-Mont-Blanc Valley offers numerous hikes suitable for all levels, from family walks to more challenging routes with views of the Mont Blanc massif.

Among the must-sees, the Lac Blanc hike is one of the most famous in the region. It captivates visitors with its exceptional panoramic views of the Alpine peaks and its iconic landscapes.

Can I book excursions through the hotel?

Absolutely. In winter, our partners Evolution 2 and Kaïlash offer a wide range of activities, from glacier treks to heli-skiing.

In summer, our reception team is on hand to advise you and organise your excursions, whether they’re day trips or multi-day adventures. Our partners offer treks, mountain bike rides, via ferrata routes and even hot-air balloon flights, allowing you to discover the valley from a different perspective.

What are breakfast times?

Breakfast is served every morning from 6.30 am to 10 am in the Akashon restaurant. It offers a wide range of sweet and savoury options, fresh fruit and a selection of hot and cold drinks.

Is breakfast available via room service?

Yes, breakfast can also be served in your room between 6.30 am and 10 am, for an additional charge of €5 per person. To order, you can dial 600 on your room phone during room service hours or leave your breakfast order slip on your door handle before 4:00 am.

Is breakfast open to non-residents?

Yes, breakfast at the Heliopic Hotel & Spa is also open to non-residents every day from 6.30 am to 10 am at a rate of €12 for children aged 4 to 13, and €20 for those over 13.

Do you offer takeaway meals for sale?

Yes, we offer a breakfast box, which is free for guests who have booked with the breakfast included option. We also offer a lunch box, ideal for trips to the mountains or long walks.

Yes, wheelchair users can reach the spa floor via a lift and access the wellness area. However, the swimming pool and jacuzzi do not have access ramps, making them difficult for people with reduced mobility to use. The steam room and sauna, on the other hand, are wheelchair accessible.

Is the swimming pool heated?

Yes, the water in the swimming pool is heated to 29°C to ensure you enjoy a pleasant, relaxing time in our spa.

What types of swimwear are permitted?

All types of swimwear are permitted, provided they comply with standards of modesty. For hygiene reasons, however, we recommend that men wear brief swimsuits.

Is the spa open to children?

Yes, the wellness area is open to children under 13 from 10 am to 2 pm, provided they are accompanied by an adult at all times. The steam room and sauna are off-limits to children under 16 unless accompanied by an adult.

To ensure the peace and quiet of the premises, we ask that you keep the wellness area quiet.

Do I need to book access to the spa?

Access to the facilities (excluding treatment rooms) is free, without prior booking, provided you wear a swimsuit. However, booking is compulsory for treatments and massages. For non-residents, it is necessary to book a treatment of at least 45 minutes in order to access the spa.

Can non-residents access the NUXE Spa?

Yes, the wellness area is accessible to non-residents only if they book a treatment of 45 minutes or more and subject to availability. Access to the facilities (bath, sauna, steam room, ice cave, etc.) is included for one hour, either before or after your treatment.

The terms and conditions for changes and cancellations depend on the rate selected at the time of booking:

-    For flexible rates, any changes or cancellations can be made free of charge up to 30 days before the arrival date. After this deadline, 30% of the total cost of the stay will be charged and is non-refundable. In the event of cancellation on the day of arrival, no-show or early departure, the full cost of the stay will be charged.

-    For non-cancellable and non-refundable rates, no changes or cancellations can be made free of charge, regardless of the circumstances.
